Enforcement, Escalation, and Complaints Procedure
Purpose
This document supports the Michael Brawn Consulting Code of Conduct by providing clear
procedures for addressing breaches, resolving complaints, and ensuring fair and transparent
outcomes. It reflects our commitment to respectful engagement, ethical governance, and
community trust.
1. Enforcement Procedures
1.1 Initial Response
If a breach of the Code of Conduct is observed or reported:
The Event Host, Facilitator, or representative of Michael Brawn Consulting may
intervene immediately to de-escalate the situation.
The incident should be documented and referred to a Michael Brawn within 48
hours.
1.2 Informal Resolution
Where appropriate, Michael Brawn or delegate may:
Facilitate a conversation between parties to clarify expectations and resolve
misunderstandings.
Issue a verbal warning or reminder of the Code of Conduct.
1.3 Formal Review
If the issue cannot be resolved informally or is of a serious nature:
A formal review will be initiated by the Michael Brawn Consulting, led by the Michael
Brawn or a designated representative.
The respondent will be notified in writing and given an opportunity to respond.
The review may include interviews, written statements, and examination of relevant
materials.
1.4 Outcomes
Depending on the severity and context, outcomes may include:
Written warning
Temporary suspension from events or activities
Removal from specific roles or client engagements
Termination of contracts (subject to legal provisions)
All outcomes will be documented and communicated to relevant parties.
2. Escalation Pathways
2.1 Internal Escalation
If a participant feels their concern has not been adequately addressed:

If Michael Brawn is involved in the complaint, escalation should be directed to an
agreed arbitrator for arbitration.
2.2 External Escalation
In cases involving legal, ethical, or safety concerns:

counsel, local authorities, or relevant regulatory agencies.
3. Complaints Procedure
3.1 Lodging a Complaint

Verbally to a Michael Brawn, who will assist in documenting the complaint
Anonymously, if preferred, although this may limit the ability to investigate
3.2 Complaint Requirements

Any supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots, witness accounts)
3.3 Acknowledgement and Timeline
Complaints will be acknowledged within 5 business days.

Formal investigations, if required, will aim to conclude within 30 business days.
3.4 Confidentiality and Protection
All complaints will be handled confidentially.
Complainants and witnesses will be protected from retaliation from within Business
Gawler.
Outcomes will be communicated with sensitivity and discretion.
